Supporting Women Artists
Patra Artist in Residence Programme
About The Project
Thai artist, designer, and educator Jarupatcha Achavasmit founded the Patra Artist in Residence Programme to support women artists and create space for artistic development, exchange, and opportunity.
After nearly three decades in academia, Jarupatcha began a new chapter as a full-time artist, developing an international practice rooted in textiles, material experimentation, and the belief that creativity can create meaningful change. Alongside her artistic career, she has worked with women’s communities through international development initiatives, most recently with UN Women in Timor-Leste.
The Patra Artist in Residence Programme is Jarupatcha’s initiative, not a GROW-TH project. GROW-TH has chosen to support her work because it reflects something we strongly believe in: women creating opportunities for other women.
Jarupatcha will also join us as a guest speaker at our first Inspiration Dinner in November 2026 , sharing her personal journey of starting again, taking risks, supporting other women, and discovering how our individual paths can become a way of creating opportunities for others.
